In 2024, the global and Chinese steel fence market sales revenue reached RMB [amount missing] billion and RMB [amount missing] billion respectively, and the global market is projected to reach RMB [amount missing] billion by 2030. The Chinese steel fence market is mainly segmented into stationery and portable types, with primary applications including commercial premises, residences, and highways. Modern wrought iron fence production technology entered China in the 20th century. The fence industry in Sitou Town, Linqu County, Shandong Province, originated from the research on the "Manyuanchun" cast iron transparent fence sample in the late 1970s, and subsequently gradually developed and expanded.

Taking Sitou Town as an example, its fence industry has formed a complete industrial chain integrating R&D, production, and sales. In 2023, the town had 183 major fence manufacturers, producing 11.875 million meters of various types of fences, with a comprehensive industry output value exceeding RMB 3 billion. Fence products are exported to more than 30 countries and regions, including the United States, Japan, and Australia.

With the development of the industry, the materials used for fence products have expanded from traditional cast iron and steel to include zinc steel, aluminum, copper, PVC, and other materials. Representative companies such as Shandong Dican Guardrail Co., Ltd. have designed and manufactured products such as Beijing-style guardrails, golden lotus guardrails, and new Chinese-style guardrails.
